HEINRICH HIMMLER - (1900 - 1945) Hitler's Chief of the Gestapo placed in charge of security and responsible for the construction and operation of extermination camps. He chose suicide rather than face a hangman's noose at Nuremberg. Signed book from Himmler's library: 'Kroatien Marschiert' ('Croatia Marches'), (Zagreb: Europe Verlag), 1942. 128pp. 4to., in cloth boards with red titles. An illustrated description of Croatia, its people, culture, and it's Nazi-aligned government under Ante Pavelic and the Ustase fascists. As was his habit, Himmler signs the front flyleaf in green indelible pencil, dating it '29.IV.42' Fine.
