GUNTHER BLUMENTRITT - (1892 - 1967) German general, instrumental in planning the German invasion of Poland and France, participated in Operation Barbarossa, and afterward bore a large part of the responsibility for planning the defense of the Atlantic Wall and Normandy. Fine S.P., 4.5 x 6.5 in. (sight), a chest, up pose in uniform with Knights Cross, boldly signed at bottom, matted. The mat has additionally been inscribed and signed in German, adding rank.
