GIOVANNI MESSE - (1883-1968) Italian general, politician, and field marshal, considered by many the best Italian general of the Second World War. Rare partly-printed D.S. 'G. Messe', 1p. 14 x 10 in., Aug. 30, 1932, an award document issuing a bronze medal for a regimental shooting competition, signed at the lower-right in black fountain pen. Folds, lightly toned, else very good.
