S.P., 8 x 10 in. b/w, a contemporary reprint of Lindberg and his comrades who raised the first flag atop Mount Suribachi on Iwo Jima, signed in full and adding: '1st Flag Raiser, Iwo Jima'. Fine. Of the 40 men in Lindberg’s platoon who mounted Suribachi, 36 would be killed or wounded in action for the island would be secured.
