Bidspirit auction | JAPANESE TOY TANK

JAPANESE TOY TANK - Pre-war Japanese toy tank, approx. 8 x 3.5 x 4 in., most closely resembling the Type 89 'I-Go' medium tank, constructed entirely of camouflage-painted paperboard with printed details. The toy features articulate tracks consisting of small squares of cardboard affixed to a gauze backing, looped around drive sprockets secured by wood pins. A black ink inscription in Japanese appears on the underside of the hull. The main gun is unfortunately missing from the turret, but the machine guns in the turret and hull are still in place. Shows some additional wear to the treads, else very good.
