GERHARDINE TROOST - (1904 - 2003) 'Gerdy', prominent German architect who built the Munich 'Haus der Kunst' ('House of Art') and the 'Honor Temples', housing the remains of those killed during Hitler's failed Beer Hall Putsch. Rare T.L.S., 1p. 4to., [Munich, n.d.], to a Dr. R. Lorenzer. Troost thanks her correspondent for his gift of a picture of Hitler, and offers to send him a photo as a gift in return (not present). She signs boldly at the conclusion in black ink. Shows folds and notable rodent damage to the top-right corner, eliminating the date and return address, else very good. Sold with a press photograph of Troost next to Josef Goebbels, with typed biography in English on the verse, dated Nov. 1, 1947.
