HANS GOLLNICK - (1892 - 1970) Wehrmacht general during World War II, recipient of the Knight's Cross of the Iron Cross with Oak Leaves, and commander of an infantry regiment in the charge at Krojanty. Scarce war-date S.P., 5.5 x 3.5 in. b/w, a chest-up view of the general in uniform seated at a table with pen in hand, prominently wearing his Knight's Cross. Gollnick signs twice in blue ink: once along the left margin of the face, and once on the verso, adding rank ”Generalleutnant” and the date ”November 21, 1943”. Very good. Gollnick signed this piece just one month after his promotion to general.
