BRITISH SUBMARINE VETERANS - Large signed reunion poster signed by almost 50 veteran Royal Navy submariners, most having served during World War II. The most notable signer is Rear Adm. ANTHONY MIERS (1906-1985), commander of the submarine TORBAY. Miers signs a 8 x 6 in. photo of the TORBAY mounted at the center of the poster, adding his rank. The other veterans have generally signed adding the names of vessels upon which they had served. Very good. Post-war, Miers was accused of ordering the shooting of shipwrecked Germans adrift on life rafts.
