BERNARD LAW MONTGOMERY - (1887 - 1976) British Field Marshall who commenced the drive at El Alamein that ultimately drove Rommel from North Africa. Also involved in the invasions of Sicily and France. Unusual A.N.S. with his initials, 8.5 x 3.5 in., reading: 'I have spent 20 years signing books and papers, and have now finished. M of A 12-8-65'. Very good. Sold with the Order of Service at Montgomery's funeral in 1976.
