AUGUST HEISSMEYER - (1897 - 1979) Waffen-SS general, relieved Theodor Eicke who in 1939 had begun commanding a front line division. Heissmeyer was provisionally in charge of the inspection of concentration camps until relieved by Richard Glucks. Important partly-printed D.S. signed twice: 'Friedrich Jeckeln SS-Brigadefuhrer', 1p. 4to., [n.p.], Jan. 20, 1934. Jeckeln swears an oath to the S.A., in which he was also a member: '...not to express myself, either in writing or orally, even after I have left the SA, about what has become known to me about the secret titles and their application...I was made aware of this as a duty of the SA...violating this order is treason....I undertake to report any breaches...if I fail to do so, I make myself as punishable as the perpetrator himself...' Very good.
