ALFRED KELLER - (1882 - 1974) German Luftwaffe general, commanded Luftflotte 1. Interesting content A.L.S., 1p. folio, Berlin, April 23, 1963, explaining the hierarchy of the German Luftwaffe and the inauthenticity of a forged artifact. In part: 'The story of the crystal glass...is a cheat...'Heeresgruppe B' has existed only in 1940...not in 1939...The highest airman in the Heeresgruppe B was Kesselring under whom I commanded the 4. Flying Corps...The German airforce was independent - Kesselring was not placed under the command of the 'Heeresgruppe B' but under the command of the commander in chief: Goring...Kesselring was Befehlshaber and Chef der Luftwaffe 2 - there never has been a 'Kommandur der Luftwaffe bei der Heeresgruppe B 1939-1940'...'. Keller signs at the conclusion. Original mailing folds, else fine.
