Bronze Sculpture
- A table top bronze sculpture by French scultor Maurice Constant Favre (1875-1919), depicting the Greek soldier Pheidippides who was historically the inspiration behind the Olympic marathon event. It was believed he ran 42 km from Marathon to Athens to deliver the news of victory over a Persian invasion. With exceptional detailing positioned here seated on a black marble base, leaning on his left hand his right arm stretched out holding a laurel branch, & his trusty sword beside him. Signed M. Favre to the base.
Condition : Used, with a little movement to the connection on the base, overall good.
