A Pair of Street & Smith's Unknown Fantasy Fiction Pulp Magazines, May & June 1940 - This lot comprises two vintage American pulp magazines from ”Street & Smith's Unknown Fantasy Fiction” series, printed on paper. The May 1940 issue features a colorful cover depicting a blue dragon, a fiery figure, and a small boat, advertising ”THE ROARING TRUMPET” by L. Sprague de Camp and Fletcher Pratt. The June 1940 issue, with cover art signed ”EDO. CARTIER,” portrays a robed figure with a yellow, elongated face surrounded by disembodied heads, highlighting the story ”But without HORNS” by Norvell W. Page. Both issues were originally priced at 20 cents. Their reverse sides display full-page cigarette advertisements: Lucky Strike for the May issue, and Camel for the June issue, the latter featuring ”Bob Swanson picks his racing cars for speed - his cigarettes for slow-burning.”
