Oil on board, framed with title plate, verso has a label with brief history about the artist, and another label reading ”Landscape and river from Whybrow E. F. Tomkins.” E. F. Tomkins was a was a landscape painter of the early 19th Century. He exhibited 142 paintings at the British Institution and the Scottish Society between 1825 and 1844. He was highly esteemed by collectors. 14.5 x 18.5 inches framed; 10 x 14 inches board.. Condition: Very good condition; very light surface grime; small repair lower left; craquelure throughout appears to be stable.
