Very rare, limited edition (of 60 prints) color gravure print from the edition Degas par Paul Lafond, Paris: Edition de Luxe Il a ete imprime de cet ouvrage une edition de luxe sur papier de Japon a 60 exemplaires numerotes 1918-1919. This item comes accompanied by a document issued by The Printer's Press Edgar Degas was a prominent impressionist painter best known for his depictions of dancers. Initially trained as an academic history painter, Degas soon found inspiration in modern life and became known as the classical painter of modern life. 10 x 7.5 inches paper. L.M.F.A; acquired in a private sale 2005 to the present owner, a Gentleman from California. Very good condition, considering age, with light toning. It appears that when they were produced, they were hand-enhanced as the protective sheet contains slight smudges from the piece. This print is glued along the left edge to a cover sheet (as issued).
