Giorgio Morandi was an Italian painter and printmaker who specialized in still life. His paintings are noted for their tonal subtlety in depicting apparently simple subjects, which were limited mainly to vases, bottles, bowls, flowers and landscapes. 11.75 x 17.75 inches canvas; 17.5 x 23.5 inches framed. Private collection, Canada. Good condition with some flaws; the stretcher has left an impression on the canvas; surface grime throughout; canvas is slightly sagged in its stretcher.
