Howard Besnia: Figure Study of Nude - Howard Besnia (American, 1921–2014): Figure Study of Nude, conte crayon and ink on paper mounted to foam core, signed and dated (February 20th, 1947) lower left: unframed. Howard Besnia was an artist and educator whose career spanned over seven decades. He produced works in many painting and drawing media, and was a prolific print maker and creator of hand made books. He received both his BFA and MFA degrees from Yale University, and was a tenured faculty member and head of the Art Department of Fitchburg State College in Massachusetts. 45 x 33 inches unframed. Aged condition, some creases in paper, paper has been patched from behind on the bottom. The back of the board has water stains that do not seem to affect the paper.
