Red Painted Mask, Dogon People, Mali - Dogon People, Mali: Carved Wooden Mask, painted red and decorated with a white and black painted Eye motif. The severe angles of the lower face extend upward to a crest adorned with four Nomo, above whom float a pair of white vessels. The age of this impressive mask is estimated at the Mid 20th Century.
