Levon West: Peddlers - Levon West (America, 1900 - 1968): Peddlers, c. 1931, dry point etching on wove paper. Signed lower right, numbered (29) lower left, unframed. Levon West was lived, mostly, in New York and South Carolina. He is known for printmaking, color photography, landscape, figure painting, and having helped to gain acceptance for photography as an art medium. He established one of the first photography exhibits at New York's Metropolitan Museum of Art. 14 3/8 x 8 3/4 in. Good condition. The image is slightly discolored by light strike. There is an ink smudge on the upper left corner of the paper, and there are a few very small foxing spots.
