Behind the success of every small business, there is a family. We are proud to have three generations working side by side.
Sam Schnaidt (Founder/President) grew up in a home of long time antique and automobile collectors. Sam started collecting at the age of 12, buying his first antique car at auction, a 1926 coupe, for $20.00. He collected antique toys as a teenager, many of which are on display at the auction house today. Sam and his wife, Heidi, have bought, sold, and collected antiques for almost 50 years. Sam graduated from Ohio University and Reppert School of Auctioneering in 1963.
Sam and Heidi were joined at Apple Tree by their son, David, in 1993. David filled Apple Tree with his great enthusiasm and expertise until he lost a brave battle with cancer in 2013.
Debbie Schnaidt
Sam and Heidi's daughter, Debbie Schnaidt (Vice President) grew up going on antique buying trips that were thinly disguised as family vacations. She loves the warmth, patina, and history of antiques. Debbie attended auction school in 1994, and has now assumed management and auctioneering duties at Apple Tree. She has been appointed by Governor DeWine to serve a second term on the auction commission. Debbie looks forward to growing the business with her son, Spencer, and his wife Meredith.
